Etsy SEO means aligning your listing's title, tags, description, category and attributes with the phrases buyers search for. What does Etsy listing SEO look at?
To find a listing, Etsy search uses the phrases in fields like the title, tags, category and attributes. Photos and overall listing quality also influence whether a buyer clicks and buys. So SEO isn't just adding keywords — it's making your listing accurate, complete and easy to read.
What does the Listimize SEO Score measure?
It's a single score out of 100, built from an evaluation of these areas:
- Title: does it describe the product clearly, lead with the key keyword and stay readable?
- Tags: whether all 13 tags are used, plus repetition and coverage.
- Description: does it give buyers the information they need? (Length alone isn't rewarded.)
- Category and attributes: the right category and completed attributes.
- Media: number of photos, video and image alt text.
- Technical: the fields required for your product type. Digital products aren't expected to have shipping details and aren't penalized for it.
The Listimize SEO Score is Listimize's own assessment; it isn't an official Etsy score or ranking formula.
How does AI Optimize work?
- It reads your listing's current title, tags, description and structured details (category, attributes, product type).
- It generates candidate searches that describe the product and enriches them with Listimize keyword data; a keyword with no data is never treated as "not searched".
- It prepares suggestions for the title, 13 tags, description and alt text. It never invents details that aren't in your listing (e.g. materials, dimensions).
- You review suggestions field by field and can undo anything you don't like.
- Nothing changes on Etsy until you click "Approve and publish".

AI suggestions never silently cut a tag that exceeds 20 characters; invalid tags are rejected or corrected.
For listings that don't sell: Revive Stale Listings
Finds listings that get views but no sales, or no attention at all, and suggests rewrites for the title, tags and description. Changes are still applied only with your approval.
Limitations
Better SEO helps your visibility in search but doesn't guarantee sales; price, photos, reviews and competition matter too. AI suggestions are a starting point — check that they fit your product before publishing.
